Mary Ann Cary passed away peacefully on January 9, 2013 at the Heritage Corner where she had made her home the past five years.
She was the daughter of George Roe, Sr. and Flossie (Hodgman) Roe. She was born in Weston, Ohio, and spent her adult lifetime in Bowling Green. She married William John Cary on August 2, 1958 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2003.
Mary Ann graduated from Weston High School in 1946 and attended BGSU. She was a bookkeeper for Hankey Lumber Company from 1947 to 1983. She then worked at the Wood County Board of Elections until retirement.
She was a member of the Weston Chapter #198 Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1953. She was vice-president of the 6th District and became president in 1975. Weston O.E.S. combined with Bowling Green Greenwood O.E.S., where she continued to hold offices. Mary Ann was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years.
