Norma Cathryn Meister of Waterville, Ohio, formerly of Grand Rapids, Ohio, and Liberty Center, Ohio, died Sunday (July 22, 2012) at home.
Norma was born in Maumee, Ohio, on March 26, 1926, to Leslie C. Tanner and Edith (Appling) Tanner. She married Marvin P. Meister at Whitehouse, Ohio, on February 1, 1945.
Norma worked at Essex Wire in Wauseon, Ohio, for 27 years as a machine operator. She was a member of the IBEW Union and a member of the Women’s Auxilliary of the Volunteer Fire Department of Neapolis. She served as president of the Ohio and Northern Michigan Firemen’s Auxilliary. Norma was a member of the Kitchen Katies of Neapolis, Ohio, for several years.

Dan-DeStefano-obit-picDaniel L. “Danny” DeStefano, 61, of Corry, PA, formerly of Shady Plain, Kiski Township, Armstrong County, PA, died on Sunday (July 22, 2012) in Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH.
Born on January 3, 1951 in Braddock to the late Carmen M. DeStefano and Elizabeth “Betty” I. (O’Toole) DeStefano, Danny lived in Corry for the past 30 years.
Mr. DeStefano operated the DeStefano Dairy Farm in Shady Plain for several years. He was the owner and operator of D & D Enterprises, a successful natural gas line construction company based in Ohio where he was a pipe liner for the past 25 years. Danny was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Apollo. He was a Free and Accepted Mason and a graduate of Elders-Ridge High School, Class of 1969.
Danny’s generous life touched many people and he will be greatly missed.
He enjoyed riding quads and was also a car enthusiast. Danny enjoyed his cat Bubby.

She was born on September 12, 1924 in Luckey, OH, to George and Mary (Ford) Jacobs. Lois married Arthur Avery Alexander on December 31, 1942 in Denver, CO, and he survives.
She was a waitress at the Commodore Perry Hotel, Toledo, OH, and was a wonderful homemaker. Her memberships included: Zion United Methodist Church, Luckey, OH, Church Women’s group, Adult Sunday School Class, Luckey Couples, PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Years ago she was instrumental in beginning the dinners for the Luckey Kiwanis meetings where she also was a server. Along with her husband, Avery they enjoyed wintering in Florida.

Edward-H.-Smith-obitEdward Hiram Smith, 84 formerly of Weston, died Monday night (July 23, 2012) at Altercare of Bucyrus. He has been ill since 2009, and failing the past six months.
He was born December 10, 1927 in Bucyrus to Ralph Sr. and Catherine (Thornsberry) Smith, both deceased. On October 16, 1949 he married Vivian Roley who preceded him in death along with daughter Bonnie Roszman; Brothers Ralph, Jr. and William Smith, and sister Pearl Smith.
Surviving are Grandchildren Brian Roszman, Erin (Tony) Chavatzas, great-grandchildren Lillian Roszman and Conner Chavatzas , and Son-in-Law Charles Roszman all of Bucyrus.
He graduated from Bucyrus High School Class of 1945, completed a 2 year Accounting Course at Tiffin University in 1949, and became an Insurance Agent & Adjuster for Motorists Mutual for over 22 years.

Doris was born March 15, 1935 in Perrysburg, Ohio, to the late Henry (Cal) and Alice Frusher and has one sister, Nancy Grimm. Doris was a graduate of Perrysburg High School.
On January 9, 1954, Doris married James F. Burkhardt, the love of her life, in Perrysburg, Ohio. Jim and Doris have three children: Vicki, Bill, and Laurie.
Doris was described by her family as a “Spit-Fire Grandma” with a spirit that was lovingly referred to as beautiful inside and out. She loved to garden and cook. She was a Grandma and Mother to many. Doris was a member of St. Alfonse Catholic Church in Crossville, TN, and a member of the Cumberland Plateau Antique Tractor Club. She will be greatly missed by all including her cuddle bug dog Harley.

He was born on August 20, 1932, to the late Gilbert and Gertrude (Meyers) Bankey in Tontogany, OH. Red married Audrey Mullins on December 20, 1952 in Mullens, WV, and she survives.
Red is also survived by his children: Gary (Holly) Bankey of Perry, FL, William (Patti) Bankey of Deshler, Donald (Candy) Bankey of North Baltimore, Cheryl Bankey of Cygnet, and Mary Ellen Chapman of Toledo; brothers: Gene Bankey of Napoleon, Bobby Travis of Genoa, Jim Bankey of Cygnet, and Dickie Bankey of Metter, GA; sisters: Bea Wolf of Dover, OH, Judy Gibson of Napoleon, and Donna Burdue of Liberty Center; 12 grandchildren: Gary, Keith, Arica, Tammy, Timothy, April, Amanda, Gilbert, Kevin, Christopher, Samantha, and Machell; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. David Allen Dukett, 62, passed away on July 24, 2012 at the Wood County Hospital.
He was born to Donald and Helen (Willis) Dukett on August 12, 1949.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran, and is a lifetime member of the AmVets #711 in Bowling Green, OH.
David loved cooking for everyone, and he loved his grandchildren very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Elaine.

He was born November 11, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio, to Dennis J. O’Neil and Elizabeth (Fox) O’Neil. He attended St. Charles High School in Columbus and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1952. Following graduation, he served as Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.
He married Mary I. Clark on September 11, 1954 in Delphos, Ohio.
He was a Professional Civil Engineer with a long, successful career not only with the state, but also with Leon Bolton & Sons, Harmeyer Construction, Briggs Construction Company, N-Viro Corporation, and private consulting.
His work brought him to Northwest Ohio as the lead engineer on the construction of I-75 in Toledo in 1967. He was a master tinkerer and held numerous patents for construction industry related inventions.

William was born in Deshler, Ohio to the late Albert and Lula Mae ( Bowen) Wenner. He married Patricia Gunn on November 10, 1961 in the Zion United Methodist Church, Wauseon and she survives in Bowling Green.
Also surviving are his children: Deborah (Robert) Madden of Waukesha, Wisconsin, David (Rebecca) Wenner of Cygnet, Ohio and Daniel (Heidi) Wenner of Sterling Heights, Michigan; 8 grandchildren and 1 great- granddaughter on the way.
He was preceded in death by his brother Carl Wenner and a sister Thelma Sapp.
William was employed with the Dana Corporation and Brush Wellman. He also was a part time farmer. He was a graduate of Weston High School.
William was a member of the Weston United Methodist Church and the Wood County Senior Citizen Center, where he volunteered with pre-washing the dishes.
